Indicating “Countries of availability” when registering a model in EPREL

From 1 March 2026, when registering a model in EPREL, a new tab is available to suppliers to indicate the “Countries of availability”. Indicating where the supplier directly markets the model, or offers it for sale online or in distance selling, is not mandatory, but recommended. By default, all EU/EEA countries are selected.

The information on the country of availability is relevant for public users, to select models that can be certainly found in their country and that can have assistance locally.

Models that for any local restriction or other reason are not marketed in a country (e.g. a gas boiler not suitable for the gas provided in a country, tyres for use on ice not marketed in Mediterranean countries, etc.) should have such information available .

From a compliance verification perspective, selecting at least one EU or EEA country allows the market surveillance authorities of all EU and EEA countries to directly access all compliance information and documentation available in EPREL. Selecting a “third country” (more coming, on top of Norther Ireland), makes the technical documentation accessible by compliance control authorities of those countries (that, otherwise, have to contact the supplier for mandating to upload what missing, if the model is spotted in local stores). Vice-versa, unless also any EU country is selected, Authorities of EU/EEA have no access to the technical documentation.
