This section contains questions and answers of general interest concerning Ecodesign and Energy Labelling. The answers typically reflect a common understanding between Commission services and the Market Surveillance Authorities of Member States. However, a binding interpretation of Union law is the sole competence of the European Court of Justice, and the Commission shall not be liable for any damage or loss howsoever caused that may result from relying on the information provided here.

The relevant information suppliers must upload, pursuant to article 12.5 of the Energy Labelling framework Regulation (EU) 2017/1369, can be found in the compliance part of the database (the compliance part is not public but only accessible to market surveillance authorities, and to suppliers).

The supplier shall provide the loading plan upon request by a market surveillance authority. The way to inform the authorities about this loading plan is neither specified by the law nor by EPREL. It is up to each supplier to express it in terms of 'Data Type'.

The Ecodesign and Energy Labelling legislation (note: Energy Labelling legislation is not a CE regulation) do not require suppliers to make the Declaration of Conformity available on a specific website or tool, such as EPREL.
